Poll: Cards vs Yankees in World Series

According to a new AP-KN Poll, a majority of baseball fans predict a New York Yankees-St. Louis Cardinals World Series, with the Yankess predicted to win the Series.

Other things to note:

-2 out of 5 baseball fans say they would rather watch a regular-season NFL game than a major league playoff matchup. (1/2 the fans in the survey said they wanted a shorter postseason.)

- More than 80% said there's no need to add extra teams to the playoff mix.

- About 3 in 5 expect Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez will avoid another postseason slump.

- Asked to pick who would have the greatest impact in the postseason, Derek Jeter of the Yankees and Albert Pujols of the Cardinals nearly tied at the top, doubling up the Dodgers' Manny Ramirez and far ahead of David Ortiz of the Red Sox.

The AP-Knowledge Networks poll was conducted Sept. 14-21 and involved online interviews with 559 adults who said they were interested in Major League Baseball. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.

A New Begining

Hey everyone,

First off, I'd like to officially welcome you to my Sports Blog. While this reporter will cover any major sporting events, I would like to note that I will focus my attention on MLB and NFL news, teams, games, and anything else related to pro-baseball or pro-football.

That all being said, I must admit that I while I do have favorites in each league (STL Cardinals and Indy Colts), I will always strive for professional and unbiased reporting and predictions.

With that, let the games begin!
